Porto Frailis Beach
Just minutes from Casa Felicita, Porto Frailis is one of Arbatax’s most distinctive beaches. The cove stretches for around 200 metres between headlands and granite rocks, with fine pale sand and clear blue water.
The naturally sheltered bay and gently sloping seabed make it an inviting choice for relaxed days by the sea.

Red Rocks of Arbatax
The Red Rocks are among the most recognisable landmarks in Arbatax and Ogliastra. These imposing red porphyry formations rise beside the sea, creating a striking contrast with the turquoise water.
Easy to reach from central Arbatax, they are especially atmospheric at sunrise and sunset.

San Gemiliano Tower
Standing on a headland above Porto Frailis, San Gemiliano Tower is one of the area’s main scenic and historic landmarks. It formed part of the coastal watchtower system used over the centuries to monitor and defend the shoreline.
Its elevated position offers wide views across the Arbatax coast and Porto Frailis bay.

La Capannina Beach
La Capannina, also known as a section of Spiaggia di Ponente, extends along the Arbatax coastline between the harbour and the Tortolì lagoon. The beach has pale and ochre-toned sand, green and turquoise water and a mainly sandy seabed.
A pine grove borders much of the shore, making it a pleasant alternative to the area’s busier beaches.

Basaura Beach
Basaura lies along the broad coastline south of San Gemiliano, towards Lido di Orrì. It is a spacious, open beach for visitors looking for long stretches of sand and clear water just minutes from Arbatax and Porto Frailis.
The shoreline continues towards some of the best-known beaches on the Tortolì coast.

San Gemiliano Beach
Beyond the headland crowned by San Gemiliano Tower lies a long golden-sand beach with blue water and a gently sloping seabed.
It is one of the best-known beaches around Arbatax and marks the beginning of the long shoreline continuing towards Basaura and Lido di Orrì.
